Thanks to Our Planning Committee!

Our planning committee donates their time to organize the annual Young Professionals Week.
None of this would be possible without their time, dedication, and hard work.

I've been supporting small businesses since I moved to Whidbey in 2012; first through the EDC, then Goosefoot and my own business, Sami by Design.

It All Started...

Through her previous job at the Economic Development Council helping small businesses get started, Sami Postma noticed a discrepancy; there were younger folks here, they worked the businesses and were starting some of their own, but there was nowhere for them to connect, no way for them to gather and start growing spaces of their own.

At a Washington State Main Street conference in 2017, Sami learned about Young Professional Weeks held around the country. This year, she finally brought a team together to bring the event to Whidbey Island.

We sincerely hope that this program for young professionals, by young professionals, succeeds in strengthening our communicating and deepening those connections that will help the next generation call Whidbey home.
